"I believe that by creating a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space, individuals can explore what their authentic self is looking for in life."

Ryan believes that by creating a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space, individuals can explore what their authentic self is looking for. We are all shaped by our experiences in life, both positive and negative. Many of those experiences took place during childhood and adolescence and have shaped who we are today.

Many habits, frustrations, and triggers we have as adults were formed during our youth and were out of our control. This sometimes requires us to reflect on and challenge beliefs we have developed about ourselves, our family, and the perspective (lens) that we view the world through.

As we become older, we realize that there is no such thing as a perfect family; we all have needs that were not necessarily met during our childhood and adolescence. Through therapy, we can explore what we need at this point in our lives and look to make positive changes to help us achieve our goals.

He firmly believes that we can change at any point in life, regardless of our age, and taking small steps makes the process much more achievable.

His philosophy is based on a humanistic approach to therapy. He believes we should work towards being true to ourselves to live a fulfilling life. Everyone has a unique way of viewing the world, which guides our actions and choices. Therefore, self-actualization, self-direction, and choice are essential to our growth and healing.

Ryan focused on working with adults through completing his Master of Education in School Counselling. He also currently works as a school counsellor in the education system. He completed his Bachelor of Education through the University of Victoria, and his professional background spans over ten years of experience in education.
