Seyda Bilikci RCC

Seyda Bilikci received a Bachelor’s in Psychology from George Mason University (Virginia, United States) and a Master’s in Counseling from City University (Vancouver, BC, Canada).

Seyda is passionate about working with people of all ages and backgrounds who are experiencing a variety of distress, such as relationship problems, trauma, anxiety, depression, burnout, loneliness, and feeling overwhelmed or “trapped.

Seyda has had the privilege of working with a diverse population, including couples, individuals from the LGBTQ community, and immigrants. She takes a person-centred and collaborative approach to support her clients’ journey towards greater well-being. She helps them to facilitate positive change, process their trauma, grow, heal, and accomplish their goals while discovering their inner strengths and resilience.

She believes that a genuine, positive therapy relationship is a crucial instrument for growth and healing and, therefore, strives to create a non-judgmental, empathetic, and culturally sensitive space that feels comfortable and safe for clients to share their feelings, thoughts, and unique experiences. She recognizes that “one size does not fit all” and tailors her approach and techniques to meet her clients’ needs. Her goal is to help clients create a well-balanced life and to help them learn to be their therapist using the tools they have gained through therapy.

Seyda utilizes evidence-based techniques to help her clients gain a broader insight into themselves and their problems, process their emotions, and gain skills to utilize new strategies to manage their challenges. She has pursued certifications to enhance further her therapeutic proficiency, including Emotion-Focused individual Therapy (EFIT) Level 1 and 2 (ICEEFT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy – Level 1 and 2, EFCT externship (ICEEFT), and Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy for Depression (CBT) from the Beck Institute. She is particularly drawn to EFT’s focus on helping individuals manage their emotions flexibly and develop greater emotional awareness. The way EFT integrates experiential therapy principles to create new emotional experiences and transform old patterns deeply resonates with her therapeutic philosophy.

These certifications provided her with a nuanced understanding of emotions in therapy, insights into relationship dynamics, and evidence-based strategies for addressing mental health conditions and life challenges. She is also interested in Somatic Experiencing (SE) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).

It takes strength, courage, and resilience to pursue therapy. Seyda appreciates that you are considering taking this crucial step toward addressing your concerns.

Seyda can speak Turkish and Azerbaijani.
