Have you ever found yourself replaying a conversation, questioning your own reactions, or wondering why the same patterns keep showing up in your relationships, even when you want things to be different?

Maybe you’re used to keeping everything together. On the outside, everything seems fine. You show up for others, manage your responsibilities, and keep moving forward. But lately, your mind won’t switch off at night, you’re feeling more irritable with the people you love, or you just don’t feel like yourself. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, grief, relationship difficulties, or a major life change, you don’t need to have everything figured out to begin our work together.

Hi, I’m Tanisha, a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a deep desire to connect with others and help them feel understood and supported. I believe that understanding begins with curiosity, not judgment. The ways we’ve learned to cope, the relationships we’ve experienced, and the stories we’ve come to believe about ourselves often have roots worth exploring. Rather than focusing on what’s wrong, I’m interested in understanding what you’ve been through, how it’s affecting you today, and what you need moving forward.

My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative, grounded in trauma-informed and culturally responsive care. Having sat in the client’s chair myself, I understand how vulnerable opening up can feel. You don’t need to find the perfect words or share everything at once. I’ll listen closely, make room for what you’re feeling, and offer thoughtful reflections and gentle challenges that invite you to see things differently.

Drawing from relational, attachment-informed, and psychodynamic perspectives, I believe there’s value in slowing down and making space for what you’re experiencing before trying to change it. Together, we might explore what feels difficult in the present, the emotions that come up, and make sense of what those feelings mean to you. As we begin deepening our understanding, we can gently explore how past experiences, relationships, and long-held beliefs might be shaping the way you see yourself, respond to challenges, and connect with others. There’s no need to rush toward answers; sometimes, meaningful change begins when we allow ourselves the space to understand ourselves in a new way.

And while finding relief in the present matters, I also believe in working towards something that lasts beyond our sessions: a deeper understanding of yourself, greater trust in yourself to recognize your needs and feelings, and the confidence to navigate difficult moments in ways that feel meaningful to you.

My hope is that, over time, life begins to feel less like something you have to push through and more like something that you can embrace.
