Dahlia Jaglal, MA, Grad D, HBSc, EMDR Trained, RP (Qualifying)
Past experiences have taught me that many individuals want someone to simply listen to and journey with them as they navigate their personal challenges and issues. I aim to be that listening ear and individual who can support clients along their difficult journey towards a place of hope by meeting clients where they are in their lives with nonjudgment and compassion.
I strive to create a culturally supportive and safe environment to help clients develop resilience and positive coping skills and live their best lives by managing and overcoming their struggles and hardships.
I believe everyone’s pathway to healing is different, so I tailor my therapeutic techniques and strategies to best align with clients’ needs and goals. I use a variety of modalities in my treatment planning, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
I offer psychotherapy services to teens and adults, and my specialty lies in helping those who are struggling with anxiety, depression, body issues, daily life stress and transitions, trauma and grief, to name a few.
I hold an Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Neuroscience from the University of Toronto and an Ontario College Graduate Certificate in Autism and Behavioral Science from George Brown College. I have obtained my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counselling degree from Liberty University in Virginia in the United States.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, a crisis responder with the Kids Help Phone and a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals, Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and American Counselling Association.
