I bring nearly 35 years of experience supporting people, groups and organizations. At Menders Counselling, I’m the Managing Director responsible for clinical quality across the organization. My goal is simple: to lead and support an amazing team of dedicated professionals to ensure every client receives thoughtful, high-quality care and finds their counselling experience genuinely helpful.

I began my career more than three decades ago as a street-level outreach worker. Over the past 23 years, I’ve worked as a clinical counsellor with youth, adults, couples and families in a wide variety of settings, helping people navigate a range of personal challenges. Along the way, I’ve managed a family counselling and addictions clinic and led a telephone-based program providing information, resources and support to people across British Columbia.

I’ve also served as university faculty, an internship coordinator, Director of a Master of Counselling program and, later, Vice President. For more than two decades, I’ve provided clinical supervision and peer consultation to counsellors and other helping professionals.

I hold a Doctor of Psychology, a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, an MBA focused on leadership and teams, and a master’s certificate in Organization Development and Change. I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Approved Clinical Supervisor (RCC-ACS), as well as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC).

Alongside my counselling work, I’ve spent nearly two decades coaching and developing leaders and executives. I’m also an experienced speaker, facilitator and trainer, with a particular focus on leadership, emotional intelligence, workplace mental health and psychological safety.
